Adrian Fisher MBE is globally recognized as the premier maze designer, having crafted over 700 mazes across more than 40 countries on six continents since 1979.

Adrian's work can be seen at the world's finest historic buildings and private gardens including Alnwick Castle, Blenheim Palace, Leeds Castle, Scone Palace, Longleat House, Chateau de Thoiry and Speke Hall, with the National Trust amongst his prestigious client list. He has also created rides and puzzles for iconic visitor attractions across the globe including locations of Legoland, Merlin Dungeons, Sea Life Centres, Kidzania and Hollywood Wax Museums.

In addition to traditional hedge and wooden fence mazes, Adrian has pioneered novel construction methods, such as the Brick Path in Grass Maze and the world’s first cornfield maize maze, setting multiple Guinness World Records in the process. Adrian Fisher Design Ltd also leads the industry in innovative mirror mazes, annually constructing half of the new installations worldwide, with creations spanning from the USA to the UAE and beyond.

His creative achievements have earned him extensive media coverage in esteemed publications like Frieze, Warhola, The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Financial Times’ How To Spend It, The Times’ Luxx magazine, and Country Life. His innovative designs and insights have been featured on major networks including CNN, BBC, and others, highlighting his role as a thought leader in design and leisure spaces.

 

Adrian is also a prolific author, having written over a dozen books on mazes and puzzle design. His expertise is further recognized by the 2003 Resorgimento Award from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, awarded for transforming a chosen field of endeavor through outstanding creativity.

 

Adrian’s dedication to enhancing location-based attractions is rooted in affirming positive family and social values, with a focus on educational and playful designs such as The Playful Garden (where outstanding garden design wholeheartedly embraces children’s creative play) and Maths Gardens for schools. His work not only provides enjoyment but also serves as an educational tool, promoting discovery and learning through interaction.

 

Residing in Dorset, UK with his wife Marie, Adrian continues to transform spaces with his visionary mazes and puzzles, enriching the cultural landscape and captivating those who seek unparalleled craftsmanship and exceptional experiences.
